Katie Mustard founded Mustard & Company in 2010 to provide producing services for international co-productions shooting in the US, Europe and the Middle East.

Katie Mustard is an American producer and executive producer based in the EU. Her producing credits include 40 feature films along with dozens of documentaries, shorts, and commercials as well as 19 TV Series for Netflix as a production executive.  Many of the films she produced have screened at A-list film festivals including Tribeca, Munich, SXSW, Toronto, Berlin, Venice, and Edinburgh. In her first 10 years out of USC film school, she had 9 films premiere at Sundance.  In 2015, Variety (a key US industry publication) named her in the Top 10 Producers To Watch. Katie’s dominion in production is unquestionable.

Katie has been a member of the DGA, the PGA, IFP, and Women Producers Association where she has supported business development efforts for the film industry focused on creating opportunities for women in film. This provided her with early foundations on the business side of the industry and an understanding of how to attract underrepresented groups to bolster our industry.

A passionate and curious traveler, Katie has produced content in 11 countries including India, China, Bulgaria, Cayman Islands, Romania, Morocco, as well as the Patagonia and arctic regions of South America. She has also traveled to 69 countries on her own, so it is not a surprise that when Katie landed at Netflix in 2018, it was on the then-called “International Originals” team in EMEA where, in her first two years, she covered productions in Turkey, Poland, Sweden, UK, Bulgaria, Belgium, and Lithuania. This broad exposure to many territories resulted in a solid understanding of the EMEA regions and the multifaceted challenges Netflix faces. Her input across such a broad slate made her a key contributor as teams established many best practices, workflows, and cross-functional collaborations that serve as the basis for Netflix’s continued growth throughout these regions.

Katie is a versatile executive capable of pivoting into any vertical in support of a growing slate. In 2021, Katie relocated to Istanbul Turkey to establish the Netflix Turkey studio for sustainable long term success, effectively taking on a senior production leadership role.  She shepherding numerous initiatives, and supporting producing partners and cross-functional colleagues to reach the ambitious goals for volume and quality in the robust and challenging Turkish market.

In 2023, Katie left Netflix to return to producing with a focus on English language content shooting in Europe and the Middle East. She is currently based in Amsterdam with her husband and two children.
